The DynaVox M3 is a very durable, robust, and easy to use
dynamic display communication aid centered around the use of pre-
recorded digitized speech and focused on scene-based functional communication.
The M3’s is pre-loaded with customized software and content solutions that are designed to specifically
target communicators that fit into all age ranges of the functional (emergent) area within the InterAACT® language system. The M3’s Visual Scenes and customized InterAACT® page-sets are designed with the functional communicator in mind.
Fewer buttons, symbols with concrete representations and new InterAACT® visual scenes reduce the cognitive load placed on the individual user making it the choice for emergent level communicators. Also, the preprogrammed pages provide a means to begin developing literacy skills based on core words and phrases organized in distinct
categories, helping emergent communicators interact in a range of classroom, home and social settings.
The M3’s new magnesium case is lighter and stronger than plastic, affording you years of reliable functionality in even the toughest conditions.
Fast single word and phrase prediction. Pages display quickly, and settings can be customized in an instant! Rapid communication in any context is possible with the use of single-word and phrase-based content. (All words must be digitally recorded into the device). Easy page creation with a new, simple method for creating pages by asking for button row and column sizes.
The M3 screen size is 8.4” and new larger, front-firing speakers project with incredible audio clarity – there is an external speaker jack for even more sound. Included with every M3 is an external microphone for creating crisp, clear, high quality audio recordings.
The M3’s unique, customizable selection methods allow access to the device via touch enter, touch exit, mouse pause, and scanning methods.
PhoneIT
PhoneIT affords augmented communicators the opportunity to hold private telephone conversations using a standard telephone landline in conjunction with their M3 device. Augmented communicators can use PhoneIT to “pick up” and “hang up” the receiver, and dial phone numbers. Setup is simple and straightforward,
and the CD included with your purchase includes PhoneIT page sets for both the M3, as well as for other DynaVox Technologies devices.
External USB keyboard
This is a USB wired keyboard in USA English configuration. It has two USB 2.0 sockets to act as a USB hub as well as an external keyboard.
External USB mouse
When the M3 is connected to the Internet (using the devices wired Ethernet port), it will automatically search for software upgrades available from DynaVox. The M3 software will go through the steps to quickly and easily download and run the software upgrade.

HeadMouse® Extreme for DynaVox M3
HeadMouse Extreme by Origin Instruments Corporation allows individuals challenged by significant physical disabilities to access DynaVox M3 devices quickly and easily. HeadMouse Extreme connects to and is powered by the M3 through the USB port. It is mounted to the M3, and measures the augmented communicator’s head movements. This technology uses an infrared light to track a small disposable target that is placed on the user’s forehead or glasses. Positioning the pointer and dwelling for a selected period of time makes selections. Dwell time is adjustable. An integrated electronic tilt sensor allows the HeadMouse
Extreme to be used in even the most unusual mounting situations.
SCATIR Switch
The Self-Calibrating Auditory Tone Infrared (SCATIR) Switch is designed for use by persons who experience
difficulty in activating mechanical switches. It is a momentary-contact optical switch with auditory feedback. The SCATIR switch works by detecting a beam of reflected pulsed infrared light. It is suitable for use with a variety of control gestures, such as eye-blink, eyebrow movement, finger movement, head movement, and facial muscle movement. It can be activated at a distance so the controlling body part does not need to be in physical contact with the switch sensor.
Keyguards
Designed to make communicating more efficient for those with limited fine motor skills, our keyguards are available in a variety of layouts –which match the layouts the interAACT page sets and templates that are included with the software. They come with both the keyguard and the wireforms to hold the keyguard onto the device.
Protective Carrying Cases
Padded and water-resistant, these cases make it easy to safely transport the M3, and its power supply. A shoulder strap and handle are included with these heavy-duty cases.
User Accessible Carrying Cases
These padded, water-resistant cases protect the M3 while allowing the augmented communicator to use the device without removing it from the case. It can also be mounted while in the case.
Replacement or Extra internal Battery
The M3 feature field replaceable batteries. These batteries can also be charged outside of the device with an external charger accessory.

Additional Internal Battery and Charger Kit
This kit includes a field replacement internal battery for a M3 device as well as the charger to charge the battery when not installed in the device.

This Power Supply has a 12V cigarette lighter adapter that can plug into any 12V source. The other end will plug into the charger port on the actual device.
External battery for the M3 devices
An external battery is a flat battery that plugs into the charger port on the device and provides additional runtime for the device. It also has two USB charger ports, with which a USB 2.0 device can be charged from this battery. The external battery is charged with the same power supply (charger) that charges the M3 devices. This power supply and power cord (set part number are included with the shipment of this battery.
